- Lewis Leathers Denim Story - Leather jackets and denim jeans are one of the items that can be worn for a long time and are loved by many. Lewis Leathers' denim jeans first became public in 1958 when they were published in a catalog. Just like the jacket, we wanted to create an item that was a little special and loved for a long time. To make a special denim, we asked Kuniyoshi in Okinawa to make the denim. Kuniyoshi made jeans for 10 years at KAPITAL and returned to his hometown of Okinawa 11 years ago, where he founded Double Volante. Our denim he makes is made with our own special specifications. It's the finest 15-ounce rope-weaving indigo denim made from a traditional weaving machine in Okayama that's more than 70 years old. The 15-ounce denim fabric is thicker and heavier than regular jeans, and only up to 50 m is produced per day. This fabric is tailored to our patterns and assembled in Kuniyoshi's workshop in Okinawa. There, he sews all the denim jackets himself in the same way he makes them. The logo mark is held in a small embroidery shop in Okinawa, a traditional place that started decorating the U.S. military's Soubry jackets during the Vietnam War. -
